The next Rollin art exhibit will feature artist

The next Rollin art exhibit with featured artist, Vittoria Doughty, will be unique. Titled Steeling Nature, Doughty will be showcasing a collection of stainless steel metal art of fish, birds, mountain scenes and trees. This exhibit will run from March 9 to 31. Join us in the gallery, Saturday, March 11 from 1-3 p.m. for refreshments and a chance to meet the artist.

MUSIC AT NOON

Trinity Anglican-Lutheran Church (Angus Street and Fifth Avenue) will host this series for the season of Lent. Music at Noon offers an hour of organ music and readings from the writings of Dietrich Bonhoeffer on Wednesday, March 8 to April 5. Admission is by donation. Bring your lunch. All are welcome. COLOURING BOOKS

We are excited to present a project/fundraiser we have been working on for a few months; a community colouring book. This book, titled, Discovering the Valley is filled with many landmarks of this amazing Valley we live in, all drawn by local artists. A huge thank you to all the artists who submitted to this project. If you are interested in purchasing one, the cost is $20. Stop by the Rollin Art Centre for your copy.

GENTLY USED BOOKS DONATIONS NOW BEING ACCEPTED

The Rollin Art Centre is currently accepting all your gently used books, for their annual book sale, on May 12 and 13. We are very grateful for all your books, but cannot take any textbooks, magazines, National Geographic, encyclopedia’s or Reader’s Digest. Drop off donations (newer books only) at the Rollin Art Centre, inside the main door, under the staircase in the Bbig wooden box. Thank you for your continued support. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

PLEASE RENEW YOUR COMMUNITY ARTS COUNCIL MEMBERSHIPS TODAY.

It’s so important to renew or take out a new membership with the Community Arts Council because when you take out a membership, you are allowing us to continue “to help advocacy for the arts, for arts organizations and those working in the arts.” The cost is only $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and $22 for a family, also we are very excited to offer anew Artist Membership for $25.Stop in the gallery to find out more. The Rollin Art Centre currently is accepting applications to all visual artists and artist groups to submit an application to exhibit their work in our fine arts gallery in 2018. Applications available at the Rollin Art Centre or on our website. Deadline is April 30, 2017.

SECOND ANNUAL SOLSTICE ARTS FESTIVAL- NEEDS ARTISANS AND MUSICIANS

Join us for our second annual Solstice Arts Festival - Days with the Arts on June 16 and 17. If you are an artist or artisans who would like to display and sell art work on the grounds at the Rollin Art Centre, table rentals are only $60 for the two day event. We are also looking for musicians to fill the grounds with music. Some spots are still available if you are interested in performing during the event. Lots of activities are being planned, from live music to family activities, throughout the Rotary Arts District, including the Rollin Art Centre, the Capitol Theatre, Art Matters and Port Day taking place at the new Tyee Landing. Shuttles will be available on Saturday to transport everyone between the Rollin Art Centre down to Tyee Landing. Call us at 250-724-3412 for more info and sign up today. Tables are limited.
