Silvia Dee & the Boyfriend will be performing a Halloween show  at Char’s Landing on Oct. 31, 2024.

Silvia Dee & the Boyfriend will make their western debut at Char's Landing in Port Alberni on Halloween night.

The duo will bring their rootsy blues sound, served up with a little voodoo accordion spice, to the stage on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024.

Silvia and Rob Deyman (aka “the Boyfriend”) are travelling across western Canada as Via Rail’s “Artists on Board” and are heading straight for their Island show at Char’s.

Silvia Dee’s sultry vocals, keys and accordion deliver deep blues with a Latin edge. Rob’s rocking lead guitar, mandolin and backing vocals amplify their engaging chemistry on stage as a fun musical experience. They feature original songs, deep cut covers with a twist and a modern original groove, based in the blues.

Silvia Dee & the Boyfriend have appeared at prominent festivals. The husband and wife duo perform, write and record music with their larger band project, the Waterstreet Blues Band, which is a four or five piece blues band experience performing at venues and festivals across Ontario. Their original song "Riverside Child" was a finalist in the 2020 International Blues & Roots Song Contest, and their last album, Talkin’ About, has received airplay across North America and Europe.

John the Rock Doctor at Hot Wax Album Reviews in B.C. describes their music as having “an effortless vintage grace…and it’s a tip of the hat that their own songs mingle so comfortably with Samantha Fish's Miles to Go and Temptation by Tom Waits.”

Silvia and Rob love a Halloween dress-up party, so there will be prizes for best costume. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. and doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available at www.sidedooraccess.com, at the door or by calling or texting Char at 250-730-1636.
