The Grove Gallery is excited to announce the launch of new art-making workshops. We are launching our workshop space with “Social Studio”, a new biweekly Thursday evening drop-in class designed to cater to art enthusiasts and budding artists alike.

Our first Social Studio will start Nov. 7  from 6:30–8:30 p.m.

Social Studio combines self-guided art making with structured classes, offering a flexible experience for adults interested in exploring their creative side. Whether you want to come in to work on a craft around friends while enjoying a movie in the boardroom, or get messy with a class in the workshop space, our Social Studio has you covered.

Classes will be taught by ArtRave’s own Jill Mayne. Our first class on Nov. 7 will be an explorative Intro to Acrylic Paint class. A suggested donation of $5 per class is recommended to help sustain the program, ensuring that these sessions remain accessible to everyone in the community.

This initiative is part of the Grove’s ongoing commitment to engage the community with accessible art-making by providing affordable workshops. In doing so, the Grove is seeking feedback through a workshop survey available on their website, alberniarts.com. The survey aims to gather community input on the age range, price ranges, and scheduling preferences for future workshops, ensuring that the offerings meet the diverse needs and interests of all age groups.

Moreover, the Grove is looking for artists interested in hosting their own arts and crafts workshops. Opportunities range from one-time events like monthly paint nights to more frequent gatherings such as biweekly or monthly workshops. This initiative not only supports artists by providing a platform and space to share their work but also helps sustain the gallery through steady revenue.

Artists interested in these opportunities are encouraged to reach out by filling out an application form on the website or contacting the Grove at info@alberniarts.com for more information.
