Members of Port Alberni's Royal Canadian Legion Br. 293 and Port Alberni city council gathered in front of city hall on Tuesday, Oct. 29 to raise the Poppy Flag ahead of Remembrance Day.
Although Remembrance Day doesn't take place until Nov. 11, the National Poppy Campaign starts on the last Friday of October.
"This flag is one of the many ways we honour the sacrifices made by our Canadian Veterans and their families," the City of Port Alberni posted on social media.
