Port Alberni RCMP are looking for the suspect in a smash and grab incident at Jim's Clothes Closet last week.
On Thursday, Feb. 27 at approximately 2 a.m., Port Alberni RCMP were called to a break and enter in progress at Jim's Clothes Closet (4716 Johnston Rd). Police found the front glass display window broken and clothing items missing.
The RCMP's Police Dog Services (PDS) were called out to assist in locating the suspect, who had since fled the scene. Despite extensive patrols, the suspect was not located.
Port Alberni RCMP are now seeking the public's help to identify the suspect from CCTV images.
The suspect is described as a male wearing the following:
- Black face covering;
- Black puffy coat;
- Black jeans;
- Black and white Nike brand sneakers;
- Red t-shirt.

"This was a senseless crime, causing a local business to shoulder thousands of dollars in damages," said Sgt. Chet Carroll of the Port Alberni RCMP.
