What started in a simple shipping container in Bamfield has grown into a trusted spot for marine sales and service, founded in 1987 by Gord Hawkins

In fact, today at Breakers Marine you can find everything from Suzuki outboards to dirt bike and ATV accessories, with locations in both Port Alberni and Bamfield.

Throughout its growth and evolution, Breakers Marine has built its reputation on knowledgeable staff, high-quality products and competitive pricing.

“We’re a one-stop shop,” says Sales Manager Jeremy Waugh. You can find anything from outboard motors to navigation devices, fish-finding electronics and even service parts for ATVs and dirt bikes. “Our service shop is second to none, with certified technicians who can handle just about anything. We've really seen it all.”

A community-focused business

Breakers Marine has deep roots in the community; its original Bamfield location was a marine shop and offered a variety of local aid for residents, “Gord provides everything from tire repairs to propane fills  for the folks in need,” Waugh notes. “With our reputation for being able to get stranded boaters back on the water in a hurry, just ask around the dock and you'll soon hear for yourself.

“The community means everything to us,” he adds. “We’ve been here for a long time, and we love the location we’re in. Seeing the excitement on people’s faces when they pick up their boat after an unexpected breakdown, is really what keeps us motivated.
