A year-long drug trafficking investigation has ended with the arrest of two Port Alberni residents.

Port Alberni RCMP raided a building in the 3200-block of Third Avenue on Saturday, July 23, seizing four ounces of cocaine and other evidence of suspected drug trafficking.

A man and a woman, both in their 20s, were arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine; charges had not yet been laid before the AV News went to press.

“The Port Alberni RCMP is working hard to keep the community safe in part by deterring, detecting and dismantling drug operations in the valley,” Insp. Brian Hunter said.
