Melissa Bigmore has taken on the task of organizing the 2013 Port Alberni Relay for Life, a 12-hour, overnight community event that raises funds for the Canadian Cancer Society.
This year’s event will take place from 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 22 to 7 a.m. on Sunday, June 23, at Bob Dailey Stadium. Those interested in participating can register online or head down to the Canadian Cancer Society unit office located at 3030 B Third Ave.
Bigmore has been involved in the relay for several years in different capacities, from a team member to relay coordinator, since her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer.
