Coroner identifies Alberni woman who died suddenly

The BC Coroner's Service has identified the woman who died suddenly in Port Alberni last week as Morgan Scoular, 23.

The BC Coroner’s Service has identified the 23-year old woman who died suddenly in Port Alberni last week as Morgan Scoular, Vancouver Island Regional Coroner Matt Brown said.

Scoular was found in medical distress at a residence in Port Alberni on Oct. 21 at 9 a.m. She was taken to West Coast General Hospital where she died three days later.

The incident remains under investigation by the coroner’s service. A cause of death hasn’t been determined. “It can take a period of time before that can be established,” Brown said.

Police are still appealing to the public for information to help piece together the hours leading up to Scoular’s death.
