Does the RCMP have your stolen property?

On April 28th, 2017, the Port Alberni RCMP arrested a 21-year-old man from Nanaimo who had outstanding warrants for his arrest.

During the course of the investigation, police discovered that the man was in possession of numerous items that had been stolen from vehicles during the week of April 20 through 27.

“Some of the recovered items have been linked to crimes that were already reported,” RCMP Cpl. Amelia Hayden said. “Two items in particular have not been linked to their owners and are unique and believed to be stolen.”

Anyone in the community who has had foreign currency or vintage sports trading cards stolen recently, is asked to please contact Cst. Stephen Dupuis at the Port Alberni RCMP detachment at 250-723-2424.

Multiple charges relating to breach of probation and possession of stolen property under $5000 are being recommended against the 21-year-old. RCMP declined to name the man, as he has yet to be charged with a crime.
