Fire crews battle house blaze on Ferguson Road in Beaver Creek

Trucks from Beaver Creek, Port Alberni and Sproat Lake are trucking in water to try and douse a fire that started in a dilapidated house.

Crews from Beaver Creek, Port Alberni and Sproat Lake fire departments are battling a house fire in the 6000-block of Ferguson Road in Beaver Creek.

Calls came through shortly after 6 p.m. that a house was on fire and a mutual aid call went out immediately.

One resident escaped the blaze, which neighbours said started in the kitchen of the rundown house.

Fire crews were forced to truck in water via pumper trucks to fight the fire. The house was fully engulfed when crews arrived.
