Nanaimo RCMP looking for suspect in alleged bank robbery

Police say a man robbed the Terminal Park TD Bank at about 3:40 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17

Police are looking for a suspect who allegedly robbed a bank at Terminal Park Mall on the weekend.

According to a Nanaimo RCMP press release, a man robbed the TD Bank at about 3:40 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17.

“The suspect male entered the bank and although no weapon was produced, he indicated he had a firearm in his pocket,” noted the press release.

An undisclosed amount of money was handed over and the suspect left on foot and was last seen moving south through the mall parking lot. The press release notes that police were on scene within minutes but weren’t able to find the suspect, described as a white man in his 40s, about 5-foot-10 and heavy set with dark hair and a goatee and moustache. At the time of the alleged crime, he was wearing a brown jacket, dark-coloured gloves and a dark-coloured hat with a white logo on the brim. He is reported to have a deep voice.
