Port Alberni RCMP arrested and charged a 20-year-old man with aggravated assault after a two-month old baby was brought to BC Children's Hospital with critical injuries.

A Port Alberni man was arrested and charged with aggravated assault after a two-month old baby was brought to BC Children’s Hospital with critical injuries.

Port Alberni RCMP were called by West Coast General Hospital on Friday, Oct. 28 when a two-month old Port Alberni infant arrived in medical distress. The baby was later transferred to BC Children’s Hospital.

The father, Warren Alfred Baader, 20, was arrested and charged; he had his first appearance in Port Alberni court on Wednesday, Nov. 2 and will be back in court on Nov. 9.

The Port Alberni RCMP General Investigation Section is investigating this event.
