A new trial of a Port Alberni man who is accused of murdering Port Alberni nurse James Shannon in 2008 is underway.

A new trial of a Port Alberni man who is accused of murdering Port Alberni nurse James Shannon in 2008 is underway.

A previous trial for Kim Winslow Rothgordt was overturned on appeal last January.

The new trial is being held in Nanaimo and got underway on Sept. 10, an official with the Nanaimo Provincial Court said.
