Want-to-be soccer stars take note: the Pacific Football Club is set to host its first-ever tryout to give members of the public a chance to play professionally.

Open to male players over 16 (Canadians, non-Canadian citizens and permanent residents), the trials will take place over three days, from Wednesday, Nov. 13 to Friday, Nov. 15, at Goudy Field and Starlight Stadium in Langford. Registration costs $330, plus tax.

On the first two days of the tryouts, Pacific FC’s coaching staff will evaluate participants' performance with a series of rigorous training sessions and games. A talented few will be selected to take part in a showcase match on Friday. Those who sufficiently impress the club's coaches may snag a spot in Pacific FC's pre-season training camp and a professional contract.

“Our club has had success cultivating local young talent through our development programs into professional signings in the Canadian Premier League,” James Merriman, Pacific FC's head coach, said in a news release. “Our country has an incredible number of undiscovered footballers, and we look forward to welcoming them to our open trials and considering them for Pacific FC’s pre-season camp.”
