Shooting at Parliament Hill

Soldier at National War Memorial shot; one gunman dead, other at large.

Parliament Hill is on lockdown following a shooting on Wednesday morning. A soldier at the National War Memorial was shot by a gunman and was declared dead late morning.

Nanaimo-Alberni MP James Lunney is on lockdown along with other opposition MPs in the Centre Block. According to Lunney’s administrative assistant Bobby Wollock he is “safe and secure” but his exact location is unknown.

One gunman is dead and another is believed to be at large in downtown Ottawa.
