Suspected transformer fire cuts power to 250 in Port Alberni

Power has been cut in the Argyle Street and Harbour Quay areas in Port Alberni due to a suspected transformer fire.

A transformer fire in the downtown core has put nearly 250 homes and businesses in the dark on Argyle Street near Harbour Quay. BC Hydro is looking into the matter. The outage happened just before noon. BC Hydro’s website does not have an estimation on how long the power will be out.
