The Port Alberni Fire Department responded to the call of a bucket truck ripping out a phone line at the corner of Dunbar and Argyle a shortly after 3 p.m. today. BC Hydro had been called due to concerns that it might be an electric line but left when it was discovered it was a phone line, said PAFD acting captain Rick Newberry. Interruptions to landline phone service may occur.
