UPDATE: RCMP locate youth missing from Port Alberni

A teenager reported missing on June 13 has been found safe in Nanaimo

A missing Port Alberni girl was found safe late Tuesday night in Nanaimo by RCMP members.

The Port Alberni RCMP put out a request to the public on Tuesday evening for assistance in locating 16-year-old Braidan Gail Fischer.

Before being found in Nanaimo, Fischer was last seen May 27 around 3 p.m. in Port Alberni. The investigation indicated that she was believed to be in the Nanaimo area from social media posts, RCMP Cpl. Amelia Hayden said.
