The City of Port Alberni invites qualified local groups and organizations to apply for permissive tax exemption for the year 2026. All prior year approved organizations need not apply again. If organizational information has changed, please complete the information confirmation form online or by visiting City hall.
Application forms are available online or from the Corporate Services department at City Hall. Completed applications must be received by 4:30 pm on August 6, 2025 and are to be submitted electronically or in person to:

The criteria for Permissive Tax Exemptions are defined by Section 224 of the Community Charter. Copies of this section of the Community Charter and the City’s current Permissive Tax Exemption Policy are available from the Corporate Services department or on our website at www.portalberni.ca.
