Allan Theodore Atkinson, 66, of Port Alberni, passed away April 13, 2020. He was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on March 4, 1954.
He was survived by his children: Keith Atkinson, Shone Atkinson, and Wanda Johnson; as well as his grandchildren: Jessica Atkinson, Joey Atkinson, Logan Haubrich, Nigel Haubrich, Kael Atkinson, and Paeton Atkinson. Allan was also survived by his siblings: Robert (Bob) Schulte, Marion Schulte, Joanne Schulte, and Frances Schulte. He is also survived by his mother Eunice Schulte and father Albert Atkinson.
Allan had a career in goldsmithing for close to 20 years in various jewelry stores. He was a member of The Church of Latter Day Saints and had a passion for fishing, reading, and having great conversations.
When Allan turned 18 he joined Canada's military, serving in the Navy. Allan was stationed in Victoria and fell in love with the beauty of Vancouver Island. After an injury Allan moved back to Alberta, living in several cities and towns. There he took up the career of being a goldsmith. Eventually the love for Vancouver Island drew him back and sometime in around 1998, Allan moved back. He lived in several towns on the Island, before settling finally in Port Alberni.
