Alvin Smith

Alvin Smith of Parksville, BC passed away on September 6, 2019 at the age of 78.
Born in New Westminster and raised in Richmond, Alvin relocated to Vancouver Island in 1967. He resided in Port Alberni, Errington and Parksville. Al had a successful and lengthy career as a log scaler mainly in Alberni, but also travelled the island. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, trap shooting, gardening and cooking.
Alvin is survived by his daughter Yvonne Pohar and grandson Devyn Pohar. Uncle Al will be missed by his nephew Jerry Smith, niece Sandra Smith, niece-in-law Susan Smith, great nieces Kaitlyn, Chelsea and Hannah, his extended family and his many close and dear friends.
Alvin's family would like to thank the staff at NRGH for their wonderful care and the many friends and family who visited and kept Al company over the past few months.
A casual celebration of Alvin's life will take place at the Rod & Gun in Parksville, BC on Sunday, September 29, 2019 between 2 and 5 pm.
