Ann was born July 30, 1945, in Selo Radovanci, Croatia. She immigrated to Port Alberni, BC, Canada when she was 14 years old. She met Paul Blais while waitressing at the Barclay hotel. They were married on July 4, 1964. Shortly later, their son Brian was born, followed by their daughter Teresa.
Ann was an incredibly strong-willed person who faced extreme challenges with a brain tumour. She survived two craniotomies, radiation, and a post-surgery stroke. This was later even more difficult with heart and kidney complications. She defied all odds and stayed in her home until she passed.
Regardless of the challenges she continued to enjoy playing cards with her friends at Sunshine Club and the day program at Fir Park Village.
The family wishes to express gratitude to all of the incredible medical community that cared for her over these past almost 27 years of challenges.
There will not be a service as per Ann's wishes. Cremation to take place.
