Predeceased by parents, Jan Vissia, Hinka Vissia and grandson, Julian Chretien.
Survived by wife, Teunisje Vissia; daughter, Audrey Chretien (Marcel); sons, John Vissia, Ron Vissia (Deb), Ken Vissia (Cindy), Aaron Vissia (Serena), Ben Vissia (Roxane); 17 grandchildren and 8 greatgrandchildren; and 5 brothers and 5 sisters.
Born in Holland eldest of 11 children. Moved to Canada in 1952. Married Teunisje in January 1957 in Port Alberni where they raised 6 children.
Worked many years with MB Somass div as well as being a butcher for the community in Port Alberni. He enjoyed fishing in his free time.
A service will be held at Yates Memorial in Port Alberni on Friday, November 8th at 12 pm. Lunch to follow at 1 pm.
