Oct 29, 1920 - Jan 9, 2018
It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Arthur Dornian on January 9, 2018 at the age of 97 years. He passed away peacefully with the Family by his side.

He was born on October 29, 1920 in Disley, Saskatchewan.

Arthur is survived by his loving wife Alma, of 73 years; his children Deanna (Jack) Kraneveldt, Heather (Dale) Oberg, Ken (Jackie) Dornian and Darlene (Tim) Lee, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, his sister Helen (Norm) Wolff and his brother Steve (Terry) Dornian.

Arthur was stationed in B.C. during the War and that is where he met the "Love of his Life" Alma. He then settled in Port Alberni and raised his family there.

Arthur was a loving Husband, Father and Grandfather and being surrounded by his family was where he was happiest.

Arthur was a Longshoreman and an active member of the International Longshore Warehouse Union (ILWU). He retired at the age of 63.

His hobbies included camping and garage sales with Mom and fixing lawnmowers; he also enjoyed puttering around the yard and house, as that was where Dad was most content.

The Family would like to say a Special Thank You to Dr. D. Sanders for all the care he gave to Dad over the years; also to Tracey, Cynthia and his Great Grand Daughter Chelsea.

Thank You to all the Care Aides and Nurses at Rainbow Gardens Assisted Living and to the Care Aides and Nurses at Fir Park Village where Dad spent his last days, for the great care you gave him.

A Private Family Gathering will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, Donations can be made to Ty Watson House or the Canadian Cancer Society.

WE WILL MISS YOU DAD, UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN...REST IN PEACE.
