June 22, 1957 - June 15, 2021
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful Barb. She beat the odds in her fight against cancer and she battled it with bravery, determination, and grace. Barb left us on her own terms and with tremendous strength - dancing her way out to her next chapter in the stars.
Barb leaves a legacy of almost 64 years of love and joy. She was a mother, daughter, grandma, best-friend, and confidant. She was a ray of light, brightening every room and drawing you in - she made friends everywhere she went. She loved music and dancing, was up for any adventure, and the life of the party.
Barb could out-shop the best of them and was mysteriously lucky on the slot machine! Generous, thoughtful, kind, compassionate - she was the best kind of person and she loved with every part of her being.
Barb lived for her people - her sons, her grandchildren, and her many close friends. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy and her two sons her greatest accomplishment - she was immensely proud of the men they grew up to be. She celebrated her friends and family as life's greatest gift and she showed it every day. She would say "I love you forever and always" and never missed the opportunity for a hug and time shared with loved ones.
She also expressed her love in the form of giving gifts and through simple and kind gestures. She loved to cook, host, and entertain. Her generosity was unmatched.
Many will remember Barb for her amazing sense of humour that could crack you up at the best and worst of times - even until her last breath. She had the brightest smile, sparkling blue eyes, and a way about her that just made you want to be close.
In turn, she was surrounded by an incredible circle of family and countless friends that loved and supported her. While we are all left wanting a little more of Barb in our life and that unforgettable feeling she gave us, we find comfort in knowing she has found peace.
Barb will be greatly missed by so many - Her mother, Dolores Ferguson; Sons, Mike (Clare) and Ryan (Lindsay); and grandchildren June, Maci, and Luca. Never to be forgotten by her best friends - Coral, Juanita, and Shar.
She is predeceased by her father, Alan Ferguson; sister, Roberta Ferguson; and best friends Nancy and Pam.
"I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I'm living my Mommy you'll be"
Please celebrate Barb's life in your own special way. May we suggest a Vodka Diet Coke and dancing to your favorite song...
