It is with great sadness that we announce Bill Watt Sr passed away in Port Alberni on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at the age of 85 years.

Predeceased by his loving wife Maude of 60 years, his favourite dog Rufus and children Tom, Sam and grandchild Ken McLaughlin.

Bill is survived by children Kathy (Wendlin), Harriet, Velma (Doug), Dorothy and Bill Jr (Karen) ; several grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and many other extended family members and friends.

Born in Manitoba and later moved to the prairies, he met his wife Maude. Bill Sr. moved to Port Alberni in 1977 in search of work.  He found employment at Coulsons then later Alberni Pulp and Paper as a crane operator. In his younger years when not working he loved to fish in the Canal and in some of the local lakes as well as camping and ATVing.  He even took many trips up North by truck and camper to visit family.  As he grew older, his mobility became limited but that didn’t stop him from zooming around on his electric scooter all around town. Bill (Gramps) also loved visiting with his grand kids and great grand kids every opportunity he had.

According to Bill Sr.’s wishes, there will be no formal service held.  A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
