Sadly we announce the passing of Carey Leo Cote on November 11th, 2020. He will be remembered for his winning smile, a helping hand and as a friend to all.
Carey is survived by his son Eddie, grandson Koehyn, brother Kim (Debra) and family, Aunty Aline (Roger) Fortin and all Cousins. He will also be missed by his caring friend Ilona Becker.
Carey was born to Leo and Nancy Cote on December 10th, 1958. He lived in the Alberni Valley all his life. After high school, Carey began employment at Alberni Engineering, then Franklin River Division (logging), Commercial Fishing, Island Stucco, Port Fish, Sea Drift Fish Company and United Cabs. He met and made life long friends through these travels. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, a good Vancouver Canucks game, a great story and of course, Mexico.
A heartfelt thank you to our cousin Brian Cote and wife Penny who have always been there for us in the past, present and future.
Those wishing to honour Carey's memory may do so by making a donation in his name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of their choosing.
A private celebration of Carey's life will be held at a safe date when Covid restrictions have been lifted.
