CONNELL; Catherine passed away peacefully at Fir Park Village on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 93 years of age.
Predeceased by her husband Daniel; sisters: Mary, Annie and Jessie; as well as brothers: Sandy, Robert, Tommy, Archie and Hughie. Catherine is survived by her children: Daniel (Gerry) and Pat Budding (Bert); grandchildren: Bryce (Kristen), Kevin (Jen), Gordon (Tracey) and Kathy (Sean); great grandchildren: Samantha, Breanna, Braydon, Taylor, Jared, Alex, Ryan and step great grandchildren: Jonah and Brodie; sister Violet, brother William, sister-in-law Betty Connell, many nieces and nephews as well as her special friend Jen.
Catherine grew up in Scotland and later moved to Port Alberni with her husband and her children. She truly loved life. She always had a smile on her face, had a great sense of humour, was eternally optimistic and saw life as a wonderful adventure full of laughter and surprises. Her attitude was infectious and she couldn’t help but brighten the days of those around her. Her passing will leave a void in the lives of those she touched.
The family would like to thank the staff of Abbeyfield and Fir Park for the loving care provided to Cathie. She was treated and made to feel like family and for that we thank you.
Cathie loved life and loved to laugh and in light of this her life will be celebrated on Friday, February 6, 2015 from 1:00 – 5:00 at the Cherry Creek Hall. Cremation has taken place. Stories and remembrances may be forwarded to the family by visiting www.chapelofmemories.ca.
