On April 22, 2022, at the age of 98, Bill passed away peacefully. He is greatly missed by his family. Bill lost his wife, Ivy, after 75 years of marriage on January 03, 2022.
Predeceased by his parents Robert and Ida McCulloch; brothers Hugh, Jack, Bert, Jim, Stan, Harold, Don and sister Evelyn. Survived by daughters Diane Dol (Anton) and Wendy McCulloch (Len); grandsons Mark and Raymond Dol; great grandchildren Cian, Rogan, Varrick, Riley, Tasha and Baeden Dol; sister Jean Bigelow and sister-in-law Heather McCulloch and many nieces and nephews. Bill was born on October 11, 1923 in Decker Lake, BC. He proudly served with the Princess Louise Dragoon Guards during World War II. Most of his working life was spent at the Somass Division Sawmill in Port Alberni as pipefitter. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. Ivy and Bill travelled to many regimental reunions in Canada, Italy and Sicily.
The family would like to thank the staff at Echo Village for care provided to Dad during his residency. Special thanks to Dr. Andre Van Zyl for care given to Bill. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Echo Village or Port Alberni Association of Community Living.
