She was resourceful and skilled as a seamstress - something she learned while growing up in Holland. Although she did not know much English she was able to make her own way and was known as being a wonderful baker of Dutch pastries.
Corry went back to school and completed the Long Term Care Aid program in 1980. She gained employment with the Port Alberni Home Support Association, and assisted the elderly with home care.
Corry met Tony and they were married in 1983. She retired from Home Support after twelve years of service. During retirement years she enjoyed travel with her husband and they were active members of the Europa Club. Corry enjoyed many get-togethers with family and friends.
Corry was always active even in her later years where she was a member of a local walking club until dementia started to curtail her activities.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
