Dale passed away suddenly in Port Alberni on Monday, August 29, 2016 at the age of 69. Predeceased by parents Tom and Margaret and mother-in-law Olive. Dale is survived by wife Colleen; children Mike (Tracy) and Deb (Denny); grandchildren Ashton, Brennan, Marlena, Danielle (Nick) all of Port Aberni, and Skyler (Christian) of Victoria; siblings Myrna of Lethbridge and Greg of Malaysia as well as many nieces and nephews and other extended family. Born and raised on the prairies, Dale came to Port Alberni in 1967 and started at the Pulp Mill. He worked there for 40 years through the many changes in the business and the names, finally retiring in 2007. When not working, he enjoyed his fishing, whether it be saltwater or fresh water and even won a derby on Cameron Lake, where he spent many summers camping with his family and friends. Dale loved to cook and enjoyed socializing – two things that went together. His other joys were traveling – whether it be on a cruise or taking a vacation in Mexico on the vacation property. A Celebration of Dales Life will be held 1:00pm – 4:00pm on Sunday, October 2, 2016 from Royal Canadian Legion Br 293, 4680 Victoria Quay, Port Alberni, BC. Cremation has taken place. Stories and condolences to the family may be sent at chapelofmemories.ca In lieu of flowers, donations in Dales memory may be made to a Charity of choice.
