Dario Olivieri, passed away on March 21, 2018 at Echo Village, with his wife and children by his side.

Predeceased by his parents Mario and Delia, sister Silvanna, and son in law John, Dario is survived by his wife Claudette of 55 years, daughter Silvia, son Dino, and grandson Justin. Also, brother Fernando (Sally), brother in law Jules (Darlene), sister in law Diane, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.

Born in Italy, Dario moved to Trail, BC in 1952, where he lived with his grandparents and his dad, Mario. He moved to Port Alberni in 1954, and worked at the Plywood Division for 38 years. His mother, Delia came to Port Alberni from Italy in 1962. Dad was a member and president of the Italian Canadian Fraternal Society for many, many years, and a member of the Italian Canadian National Congress, which he received a medal from Queen Elizabeth (1952 - 1977). He also made good wine from 1962 - 2001.

Dad had heart problems, open heart surgery in 2003, and a few years later was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.

According to Dario's wishes, no service will be held.
