December 11, 1931 – January 7, 2015
With great sadness, we announce the passing of Don (Twitter) Hill, a long time teacher and principal in the Alberni Valley. The freckled-faced high school basketball star married his childhood sweetheart Greta (Quist) and went on to raise four children here in his hometown. When school was out, he could often be seen driving his Volkswagen van to their Sproat Lake property, packed with family and neighbourhood kids. Don enjoyed retirement during which time he developed a passion for the stock market. He spent many hours sitting with his dog Jenny watching BNN and enjoying the occasional glass of Calona medium dry. Humble to a fault, he had a big heart that he wore on his sleeve for all who knew him. He will be missed greatly by his wife Greta, sons Mike, Rob (Darlene) Richard (Linda) and his daughter Cari Ann (Gary) and their families (Christine, Lisa, Elisabeth, Matthew, Bridget, Weston and Quinn.
