It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donald Ellis Johnson. After a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer's, Don passed away on November 28, 2017, surrounded by his loved ones.

Don's greatest love was for his family and he found immense joy and pride in both his children and his grandchildren. As a young man, Don was athletic and very involved in numerous sports including baseball, lacrosse, and hockey. His love of fishing was unsurpassed. He continued to fish, play hockey and golf throughout his life.

Don was energetic and skilled in many areas. He was very generous with his talents and time. Always a hardworking man, Donald was first a logger, then a carpenter and finished his working career as a commissionaire. In his retirement, Don enjoyed watching over his grandchildren and socializing with friends.

Don was predeceased by his beloved parents, Imogene and Ellis Johnson.

He is survived by his loving wife Denise, children Trevor (Sara), Jill (Shawn), and Eric (Jamie), as well as his adored grandchildren Avery, Sydney, Tanner, Maria, Carter, Arianna, and baby Kendall, sisters Marilyn (Russ), Linda, Lorraine (Bryan), and brother Barry (Marianne).

He will be dearly missed by his family, extended family and numerous friends.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 9th, 2017 at 11:00 am at Holy Family Notre Dame Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Alzheimer's Society of BC would be greatly appreciated.
