It is also with great sadness that we share the passing of Doug Brinham. Doug passed away peacefully in White Rock less than a month after saying goodbye to the love of his life, Naomi. Affectionately known as "Big Stick", he was a devoted husband, father, papa, uncle, friend and brother (Doreen).
Doug was a kind and gentle soul, a seasoned musician and an accomplished athlete. He played basketball for Team Canada at the 1956 Olympics in Melbourne and his recent induction into the Basketball BC Hall of Fame gave his family one more chance to celebrate his extraordinary athletic career.
Doug's retirement from MacMillan Bloedel allowed him time to golf, travel and enjoy his grandchildren.
After a long and happy life together, we take comfort in knowing that Doug and Naomi are reunited once again.
A small family celebration was held at Rathtrevor Beach, Parksville.
