In loving memory ~

IN THE CARE OF

Chapel of Memories Funeral Directors

Mom left us peacefully and loved by us all on February 10, 2025. She has earned her rest. Mom was born in Morsano al Tagliamento, Italy to Natale and Angela Paolatto on January 9, 1936. She came to Port Alberni in 1955 to join her sister and brother-in-law Gianna and Tony Selva. While here she met our Dad Franco, who she had grown up with in Morsano. They were married in 1958 and shared many beautiful years until Dad's passing in 1990.

Mom was predeceased by her parents, her loving husband Franco, sisters Gianna (Tony) , Rena and Anna. She leaves her sister Gabriella (Ontario) and her brother Berto (Australia).

Mom lived for her children and that was evident in the love she gave us through the years. She is survived by Maria (Mark), Paolo (Mary), Barb (Bruno) and Tony (Norma). Her grandchildren made her a Nonna and life even more joyful. She welcomed Ashley (Blair), Zach, Julian, Sasha (Jess), Lyndon (Jessica), Sam (Amanda), Isabella and Sophia with great love and could not get enough of them. She was so proud of them all and delighted in their visits, accomplishments and hugs. She became a Bis Nonna to Tatum and Darcie and her love and pride became even bigger. She was Zia to Angela (Phil), Gianni (Joely), Mark (Shari), Stephen (Nicole) and their children as well as many nieces and nephews in Ontario, Australia and Italy.

Mom loved to cook and bake, and coffee was always on for neighbours and relatives through the years. She was always welcoming and loved visits with anyone who came to say Hi. As we can all attest she had a way with words and we could all write a book on 'Eddaisms'. Our cousins and us have shared many laughs over Mom's way with the English language. She played carpet bowling for many years and dared anyone to beat her in Bocce or Bean Bag.

In the past few years Mom's declining health made it necessary for her to move to Rainbow Gardens. She was there for 2+ wonderful years where she was treated with great kindness and respect. We will be eternally grateful for the amazing staff at Rainbow Gardens. To everyone from housekeeping, kitchen staff, recreation staff, nurses, care aides, maintenance and administration a huge thank you for your compassionate care of Mom. She loved you all. We would also like to thank Dr DeWitt and his staff Anita and Colleen; Community Health Care Workers and Life Labs for their care of Mom over the years. She appreciated you all.

There will be no formal service as per Mom. Mom would not want flowers but instead would like you to hug your kids and grandkids and treat everyone with kindness and love. If you wish, donations to Ty Watson House would be appreciated

"You live on in the hearts and minds of the loving family you left behind."
