IN LOVING MEMORY Ellen Marita May Herbert “MARIE”
MAY 31, 1931 – NOVEMBER 6, 2016 MARIE passed away peacefully at Cairnsmore Place Care Home in Duncan in the presence of her loving family on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. She is survived by her sister Joan, her sister-in-law, Ivy, her son Fred (daughter-in-law, Jody), her daughter Lisa (son-in-law, Joe), her grandson, Stephen, and her loving companion, Chuck. In addition to raising her family, Marie spent over half her life in her career as a Registered Nurse in B.C. She grew up and lived much of her life on Vancouver Island, which she loved. Throughout her life she enjoyed painting still life and coastal landscapes, music, singing, dancing, and travelling. She spent the last few months in the competent and loving care of the staff at Cairnsmore Place who were exceptional in supporting her and her family, especially in the final days. She will be sadly missed, but remembered lovingly, by all. A Celebration of Life will be conducted by her family at a date and place to be determined.
