Pepsi, dobbers, and one-armed bandits have all lost a champion. Elsie Louise Reimer (nee Biggs) passed away on September 28, 2018 after a two-year battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her son David, her father Pug, and her brothers Jimmy and Bobby.

Elsie was fortunate to have had a close relationship with her mother Minna, who continues to reside in Port Alberni. Elsie lived her life on her own terms, with a sense of humour, and working hard to raise her three daughters, Candy Travers, Kim (Hugh) Love, and Michelle (Derek) Aldridge. She was a very proud grandmother to Jordan, Ryan, Kristin, Alexander, and Hannah.

Elsie was a fabulous cook and baker, who worked mostly in the hospitality industry. Some highlights included being a camp cook in northern BC, Alberta, and at Haggard's Cove. She adored the many lucky children she fostered in her home. She valued fun-loving and kind people, without regard to social status.

Elsie spent 73 years loving the beauty of the Alberni Valley. She leaves behind many friends and countless fond memories. Her family is eternally grateful to the home support workers and the people at Ty Watson House who cared tor Elsie during her final weeks.
