Ernie passed away peacefully after a long courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 90.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jane; children, Bob (Leigh), Brian and Jim Harrigan and daughter, Eileen Russell; grandchildren, Tanya Booth (Tony Booth), Kristin Russell (Ryan Godard), Brienn Le Blanc, Sean Harrigan and Meara Harrigan; great grandchildren, Olivia, Jocelyn, Carter, Koen and Kaden.

Ernie was born in Scott, Saskatchewan in 1922. He worked on the family farm, then served several years in the Army Reserve before moving to B.C. in 1945. There he met his lovely wife Jane and settled in Port Alberni.

Ernie was employed at the Alberni Plywood Division and

retired in 1987. He enjoyed working on cars, fishing,

building furniture and loved to jive. He thoroughly enjoyed the Kingsway Hotel meat draw, with his loving sons. He loved his family visits and outings and his unique sense of humour will be missed by all that knew him.

At Ernie’s request, no service will take place.

The family of Ernie Harrigan would like to tremendously thank the wonderful staff and volunteers of Ty Watson House for their love, care, support and compassion for helping Ernie and his family through this difficult time.
