Born Jan. 1, 1928 Passed Oct. 16, 2016

Eudor was born on the family farm in Parkside, Saskatchewan, the 8th child of Sam and Amy’s 9 children. In his early 20s he moved from the farm east to Ontario and worked in various factories before heading west to work in a mill in Lake Cowichan. Ed came to Port Alberni in 1956 to work at the plywood plant. He moved over to the pulp mill in 1957 and stayed there until his retirement in 1989. He spent most of his time on the pulp mill clothing crew. He owned and ran Riverbend Store in the 80s. His hobbies included hunting and fishing, camping and beer drinking, not necessarily in that order. He spent a 2 year term as Mayor of 10th Avenue, holding court on his front lawn, weather permitting. Predeceased by his son Jamie and companion Flo. Survived by son Kelly (Dona); daughter Geraldine; grandchildren Michael, Lance, Toni, Natalie; great grandchildren Myla, Isabella. Special thanks to the staff at West Coast General for making dad’s last days there comfortable for him. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Ty Watson House. A celebration of life will be held Oct. 28, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Hansen hall, 3940 Johnston Road, Port Alberni.
