Fausto Di Vito, of Port Alberni, BC, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 23, 2017. Born in Carpineto, Sinello, Italy, in 1931, Fausto immigrated to Trail, BC, in 1951 to live with his Zia Irma and cousins Anna, Mike, Lola, and Norma. He is predeceased by his parents, Amedeo and Ilia, and his brother Michele. Fausto is survived by his wife Alice, daughter Lisa (partner Robert King), daughter Marisa (husband Larry Young), his beloved grandson Anthony Amedeo Young, and his sister Lina Racano (husband Tonino Racano) of Vasto, Italy, and extended family in both Italy and throughout BC.

Fausto moved to Port Alberni, BC, in 1956, where he met Alice. He is remembered for his active membership with the Italian Canadian Fraternal Society since its inception, including serving a term as President.

He made the best wine in the world and was the most awesome gardener. He loved his job as a longshoreman and often talked about how he missed "the guys" after he had retired.

A celebration (in a festa) will be held on Sunday, January 29, at the Italian Hall, 4065 6th Ave, Port Alberni, from 1pm to 5pm. The family has requested no flowers please.
