It is with heavy hearts we announce the recent peaceful passing of Franc Valic into the arms of His Lord and to his reuniting with family and friends who have gone before him. Being both proudly Slovenian and proudly Canadian, Franc leaves family and friends in both countries to mourn him.

Franc was a dearly beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to so many. He will be fondly remembered for his love and laughter, his support and friendship, his generosity in community involvement, his strong work ethic and his social consciousness, his integrity and Catholic devotion, and of course for some of his bad jokes at times, and for so much more. He will be sadly missed.

Memorial Mass 11am Saturday July 12, 2025 at Holy Family Notre Dame Parish, Port Alberni. If one so wishes, donations may be made to the West Coast General Hospital Foundation.
