August 14, 1926 - October 30, 2019
Frank Tommy Prpich passed away peacefully October 30th, 2019 in the comfort and care of Ty Watson House. He was born in Princeton, B.C. August 14th, 1926 to Anton and Katherine.
Frank served in the Canadian military at age 18. Following the war, Frank, his parents and his sister Mary returned to Croatia to help rebuild the war torn country.
Three years later Frank and his sister returned to Princeton where he met his bride and beautiful wife of 59 years, Mary Militich. In 1955 Frank and Mary settled in Port Alberni. Frank was a devoted
husband, father and Dida. Over the years he drove logging truck, fished commercially and retired from a career as a longshoreman. Dad would lend a hand helping others from pouring cement to building homes and gathering firewood. He loved fresh water fishing and taking all of us kids as well as the kids in the neighbourhood. The Prpich, Dalziel, Ludlows and Gatenbys filled Dad's spare time with lots of fishing and hockey.
Frank is predeceased by the love of his life Mary in 2013. He is survived by his children Allan, Johnny (Sheila) and Cathy (Ron); grandchildren Anthony (Marinka), Sean (Holly); Stephanie (Travis), Danyka (Brandon), Aaron (Tana), Josh, Leah (Dan), and Krystal; great grandchildren Jamie, Grayson, Talan, Fisher, Lennox, Nash, Remy and Evie. Also his sister Mary (Bill) and niece Debbie in Ontario.
We are very grateful for the care Dad had from Dr. DeWitt, also WCGH and Ty Watson House. To Deb at the Medicine Shoppe thank you. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to Ty Watson House. A private family celebration will take place at a later date.
He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts. Laku Noc Dida...Happy fishing Dad!
