May 17, 1931 - July 6, 2018
Jerry was born in Cumberland to Sonny and Mary Conn Maxwell. He went to school in Cumberland and later worked at Inskters Mill. In April 1958 he married Laurel Hamling. In 1959 Jerry started work at Franklin River, where he worked until his retirement. Jerry & Laurel lived in Port Alberni for 50+ years.
Jerry was predeceased by his wife Laurel in 2007, also brothers Bob and Doug Maxwell. Jerry is survived by his sister Jessie Mazey (Bill), sisters in law Shirley Maxwell, Marie Miller (Tom), Debbie Maxwell and brother in law Dave Hamling (Gwen), also Maxwell, Conn and Somerville cousins, nephews and nieces.
The family would like to thank Shirley Maxwell and her family for the wonderful care they gave to Jerry over the last 5 years. Special mention to Jerry's longtime friends Keith and Peggy Adams.
A graveside service will take place at Alberni Valley Memorial Gardens, Port Alberni Highway, at 1:00 pm on Friday, July 27, 2018 with a gathering of family and friends to be held at the Best Western Barclay Hotel, 4277 Stamp Avenue, Port Alberni, BC from 2:00 - 4:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jerry's memory to the Kinsman Club or the BC Lung Association. Stories and condolences may be left for the family at www.chapelofmemories.ca
