Dad immigrated from Holland with his parents and siblings in 1953. He worked for the Plywood Plant until it shut down in 1993 which he chose to retire at that time at the age of 54.
Dad had many passions throughout his life. Riding his Harleys with his friends, working on cars, raising canaries and tinkering with vintage cars. He loved his little dogs and his parrot of 30 plus years, Butch.
One thing that always held fast and true to dad was music. He had a special talent of playing the “mouth organ” and could play it right to the very end. Dad struggled with dementia and found peace when playing his harmonica.
Dad could light up a room just by walking into it, he was a born entertainer. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
There will be a service held on October 13/2021 at 11 am at Chapel of Memories 4005 6th Ave, Port Alberni, BC.
