February 2, 1930 - January 9, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Gertie was predeceased by sisters Corry and Mia, & parents Peter and Josephina Pelzer.
She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years Harry, children Jose (Robert) and Ria, grandchildren: Georgina, Martin (Lilia), Casey (Sheldon), Margot (Justin) and Ashton, great grandchildren: Brysa, Tanesha, Braxton, Camden, Alexander, McKenzie, Colton and Aiden, and friends who loved her dearly.
Gertie fought a long battle with Alzheimer's to which she finally succumbed. Special thanks to the staff of WestHaven who took excellent care of her. She will be sadly missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society or WestHaven Assisted Living in Port Alberni.
