It is with great sadness that the family of Gwendelyn Fay Chase announces her passing on November 1, 2018 at 5:45pm in Port Alberni, BC at the age of 73.
Wendy passed away peacefully at home with her family and close friends by her side. Wendy was born in St Hyacinthe, Quebev on February 28, 1945. Her parents were Peter and Joan Bouver.
Wendy lived most of her life in Port Alberni. She worked for Doctor Decker as his Medical Office Assistant and later worked for BC Hydro until her retirement. Wendy loved to travel with friends and family. Wendy loved spending time with her favorite little person Danielle. Wendy volunteered for Victim Services in Qualicum. She also volunteered for the Sunshine Club and played crib on Monday afternoons at the club.
Wendy leaves behind her son Mark (Karen), her daughter Sheryl, her sister Dianne Fletcher (Bob) deceased, brothers Peter Bouver (Jeanette), David Pelland (Bev), her son in-law Larry, her ex husband and friend Wayne, four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, sister in-laws, brother in-laws and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Those who loved her lost so much at her passing...yet gained so much from her living. The family would like to thank everyone involved in Wendy's care and support.
A Celebration of Life for Wendy Chase will be on November 24th at the Barclay Hotel from 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm.
