In Loving Memory ~

With hearts full of the cherished memories and boundless love she gifted us with, we announce the loss of our beloved Helen Towers, who passed away peacefully on September 28th, with her family by her side.

Survived by husband Chris, sister Mary, sons Kevin (Leeanne), Scott (Millie), and David (Karen), grandchildren; Jenna (Gavin), Sydney (Carlos), Jared (Santana), Christopher, Emily (Jesse), Matt (Jessica), Alisha (Marlon), and Jayson (Rhiannon), and many great-grandchildren.

Helen was a remarkable woman whose life radiated with love, compassion and strength. Born in Timmins, Ontario on August 20th, 1935, Helen embarked on a life's journey that left a mark on countless souls. Known and remembered for her radiant smile that could light up a room, her Christian faith was not just a belief but a guiding force that sculpted her character.

Within the community and her church, Helen was a constant pillar of faith, acceptance, and kindness. Her love extended beyond family, touching the lives of many with her gift of connection and her ability to make everyone feel heard, cherished, and loved.

She was a confidant, a constant source of support, and a best friend to many, always offering a heartfelt conversation or listening ear, leaving behind a trail of warmth and connection wherever she went.

Helen's love story with her devoted husband and best friend, Chris Towers, spanned an incredible 65 years. From their early days in the coal mines of Quebec, where they faced life's challenges together, to their later life in Port Alberni where they planted roots and later retired. Their family was the very heartbeat of her existence, and brought her the greatest joys.

Throughout her journey, Helen faced health challenges with the same grace and strength that characterized her entire life. Beating cancer not once, but twice, she exhibited remarkable courage and resilience. In her third battle, she faced the challenge with the same grace, surrounded by family until her last breath.

Our memories of Helen, wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and best-friend, will be etched into our hearts forever. The void left by her absence is as vast as the sea, but the love she shared will remain with us for eternity.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Ty-Watson house hospice would be appreciated. We invite all who wish to celebrate her life to attend the open service at Trinity Church, 4766 Angus Street on October 21st at 11am.
