October 20, 1930 - June 19, 2018
An avid hiker since a little girl, Mrs Helga Maria Crosby passed away on 19 June 2018 at the age of 87. Born in Vienna, Austria on 20 Oct 1930 she immigrated to Canada in April 1953 and married the late Harold Crosby on 18 January 1969. She lived life to the fullest and as she would say: "I have had elegant sufficiency and anything more would be superfluous".
Helga is survived by her sister Dagmar Bartholner (Wolfgang) in Vienna, her stepson Alvin Harold Crosby (Suzanne Parent) in Ottawa, her stepdaughter Kerry Marie Crosby and Kerry's sons, Tony and Dru in Campbell River. At Helga's request there will be no formal funeral but the Saturday Evening mass on October 20, 2018 will be offered in her memory. A funeral tea for family and friends will be held at 12:00pm noon, Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at the Holy Family Notre Dame Church, 4731 Burke Road, Port Alberni.
The family would like to sincerely thank Jack and Jean Colmer for their friendship and tireless support to Helga as well as the staff of Ty Watson House for their compassion, dedication and assistance.
